Visit To Lakshmi Narayan Temple
Lakshmi Narayan Temple is located to the west of Connaught Place and was erected by the Birla Industrial House in 1938. It is dedicated to Lakshmi - the goddess of prosperity and good fortune. It is commonly knoan as Birla Mandir. The design is in the Orissan style with tall curved towers. The temple is flanked by a Dhatamshala (rest house) and a Buddhist Vihara( monastery). It is a great palce for kids of any age with mand made caves and creatures in large gardens.
East from the Birla Temple, down Kali Bari Marg to Baba Kharak Singh Marg( Irwin Road), is the Hanuman Mandir. This small temple appears to have been built in 1724 by Maharaja Jai Singh of Jaipur. The Mongal Haat (Tues Fair) is a popular market for local people.
