Haryana - carved out from the heart of the Indo Gangetic plains, is one of the smallest states in India. Haryana acts a transit state for tourists on thier way from New Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab etc. It has promoted tourism by developing well - endowned tourist complexs at strategic locations on all National Highways passing through the state. The Haryanans have, however built a series of service centres along the main roads, motels, restaurants, service station complexes named after birds found in the state - that can make travelling through the state more enjoyable.
