Visit To Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar is a strange collection of salmon coloured structures, only a short stroll down Sansad Marg from Connaught Place. It is one of Maharaja Jai Singh's observatories. the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah entursted the renowned astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur with the task of revising the calender and correcting the astronomical tables.
It was built in 1725 and is slightly smaller than the observatory of Jaipur. A huge sundial known as the Prince of Dials dominates it. Other instruments plot the heavenly bodies and predict eclipses.
