Leh Mosque Information, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir
Leh Mosque was built by Deldan Namgyal in the mid 17th century and is a tribute to his Muslim mother. Leh Mosque is an exquisite work of Turko-Iranian architecture and stands majestgically in the main bazaar (market). It is not open for women visitors.
The Sunni Muslim Mosque is believed to stand on the land granted by by king Deldan Namgyal in 1660s .His grandmother was the Muslim queen of Ladakh. The Mahabodhi socirty International Meditation Centre is in town.
