Naag Panchami:
Dedicated to the serpent ananta,upon whose coils Lord Vishnu rested,Naag Panchami festival witnesses offerings being made to snakes.Snake charmers do a brisk trade, as snakes are believed to have power over the monsoons and keep evil away from the homes.
Raksha Bandhan/Narial Poornima:
On this day,sister tie rakhis,a sacred thread on thier brothers' wrist.This is a reminder to protect her when need arises and also to protect them in the coming year.Raksha Bandhan festival is also celebrated as Narial Poornima in Maharashtra.some people worship the Vedic sea god deity - Varuna.Coconuts are offered to the god to seek his blessings.
