Shey Gompa is located at about 15 kms. to the south of Leh. It was the former summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. the gompa comprises of small library, collection of thagkas,some stupas, mani walls, 12 mts. Sakyamuni Buddha statue made of copper but is gold plated and is easy to reach .
