Visit To Royal Palace
Royal Palace - also known as Khas Mahal is to the south of Diwan-I-Khas. It was emperor's private place divided into two rooms for worship (Tusbin Khana), the palace of dreams (Khwabgah), the robe room (Tosh Khana) etc. The Rang Mahal, or the Palace of Colours, further south again, took its name from the painted interior which is now gone. This was once the residence of the emperor's chief wife.
The north and the south apartments were both known as Sheesh Mahal ( Palace of Mirrors) since hundreds of small mirrors were set into the ceiling, which produced a stralit effect in the evenings. Mumtaz Mahal, a palace of jewels was used by the harem and it houses the Museum of Archaeology.
